Music composition history:

Ständchen or Serenade is a song #4 from Schwanengesang (or Swan song) a posthumous collection of songs by Franz Schubert

Franz Peter Schubert (31 January 1797 -- 19 November 1828) was an Austrian composer. In a short lifespan of just nearly 32 years, Schubert was a prolific composer, writing some 600 Lieder, nine symphonies (including the famous "Unfinished Symphony"), liturgical music, operas, some incidental music, and a large body of chamber and solo piano music.

In music, a serenade (or sometimes serenata) is a musical composition, and/or performance, in someone's honor. Serenades are typically calm, light music. The word Serenade is derived from the Italian word sereno, which means calm.
